According to a new SAMHSA report, emergency department visits related to phencyclidine, commonly known as PCP or "angel dust," increased more than 400 percent between 2005 and 2011, from 14,825 to 75,538 visits.
The final rule implements the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), and ensures that health plan features for mental health/substance abuse disorders benefits are generally not more restrictive than they are for medical/surgical benefits. Watch the constituency briefing about the MHPAEA final rule.
The SAMHSA-sponsored Helpline, 800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746, offers counseling to those affected by human-caused and natural disasters.
