Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 14, Health Cares About Domestic Violence Day
Domestic violence is a public health issue that is the leading cause of homelessness for families and contributes to chronic health problems and often limits the ability of domestic violence survivors to manage other chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and hypertension.
Health Cares About Domestic Violence Day is a national event led by the National Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence that highlights the partnerships of health care agencies, social service agencies, and domestic violence programs. On October 14th, you will have an opportunity to learn about how healthcare providers and domestic violence advocates have partnered to promote survivor health and safety in their local communities.
Access the HCADV Day Action Kit featuring planning tips and social media tools at https://www.futureswithoutviolence.org/hcadvday-action-kit/.
If you or someone you know are in a crisis or need immediate help, dial 911 or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline: (800) 799-SAFE (7233) or TTY (800) 787−3224
