Jaron Lockett, Scientific Program Analyst, Office of Planning, Analysis, and Evaluation In 2017, NIH hosted its first Inclusion Across the Lifespan (IAL) workshop to examine the science of including various and diverse populations in clinical studies, particularly children and older adults, who have very specific and unique issues that must be examined as we study new health interventions.
