Please join us virtually on Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. ET, for the lecture “Lighting Up Our Lives: How Light Influences Our Mental and Physical Health,” by Dr. Helen Burgess of the University of Michigan.
Dr. Burgess will discuss the impact of natural outdoor light and artificial indoor light on mental and physical health. She’ll explain how light reaches the brain and can alter brain centers that regulate our body clocks, sleep, and mood. She’ll also talk about the role of morning light treatment in the management of conditions such as chronic pain, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder.
This event is part of NCCIH’s Integrative Medicine Lecture Series.
