COVID-19 cases cross 900 mark

In its latest update, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday said the total number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases has jumped to 918 in India. Of these, there are 819 active cases while 79 patients have been discharged and 19 have died. While Kerala reported its first COVID-19 related death today, Maharashtra registered six new cases with the tally rising to 159. Gujarat also reported six new cases with the total number in the state at 53. Meanwhile, the global death toll rose to 27,333 on Saturday, with the highest number of deaths in Italy. There are 5,95,953 people infected by the virus across the world, with the US alone reporting 1,00,000 on Friday. New York is the worst-hit city in the United States.
