Free Webinar: New TIP on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders

SAMHSA
Upcoming Webinar: New TIP on FASD
Tuesday, September 9, 2014 | 3–4 p.m. Eastern Time
September 9, 2014, will mark the 15th anniversary of International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day. The first FASD Awareness Day was launched in 1999 to alert people to the importance of abstinence from alcohol during pregnancy and the need to provide effective services for individuals and families affected by these disorders.
You're invited to attend a special free webinar on the new Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) Addressing Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (TIP 58). TIP 58 is the first entry in the TIP series to address FASD prevention and intervention directly.
This webinar will provide:
  • An overview of the TIP series and the TIP development process
  • Specific content of TIP 58 (including the "basics" of FASD)
  • Guidance on how to use the TIP as a staff development tool in various settings.
Registration is not required.

New FASD Awareness Day Materials
The webinar is the culmination of a series of events and materials to raise awareness of FASD Awareness Day, including:
  • A new flyer [PDF – 409KB] available via free download for constituents and agencies
  • A new "Ask the Expert" column in late August featuring an interview with an individual who is living with an FASD
  • A series of social media messages through SAMHSA's Facebook, Twitter, and blog.
