Colorectal cancer: Cascade genetic testing in Lynch syndrome: room for improvement
Abstract
The Evaluation of Genomic Applications in Practice and Prevention (EGAPP) Working Group (EWG) in 2009 established that there was “sufficient evidence to recommend offering genetic testing for Lynch syndrome to individuals with newly diagnosed colorectal cancer”.1 Similar testing strategies have been endorsed for other Lynch-syndrome-associated tumours, regardless of age at diagnosis or family history (referred to as universal screening).
