In our fourth video blog, Dr. Carolyn Bridges describes her work at CDC. Dr. Bridges joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1996 where she was assigned to work on influenza. After EIS, she continued her work on influenza and in 2006 became the Associate Director for Epidemiologic Science in the Influenza Division, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at CDC. In March of 2011, she became the Associate Director of Adult Immunization in the Immunization Services Division at CDC. Her career in public health has included research on influenza vaccine effectiveness and vaccine coverage, development and implementation of US influenza prevention and control policy, influenza transmission and infection control guidance, and research and policy on zoonotic transmission of influenza between birds, pigs and people.
