10 Minutes With Rhiannon Walls
https://www.eurordis.org/10-minutes-with/
As we celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, we turn our attention to the inspiring intersection of rare diseases and sports.
Becoming a professional athlete is challenging for anyone, but for those living with rare diseases, the journey is even more demanding. Barriers to education and employment are common, with 76% of individuals feeling that their condition has limited their professional opportunities. Yet, many have found strength and purpose in sports, breaking down barriers and redefining what's possible.
Join us as we explore the experiences of our community members, highlighting the stories of Paralympians and sports lovers who refuse to let their conditions limit their potential.
10 Minutes With...
In our latest episode of 10 Minutes With, Host Rhiannon Walls talks to Paralympian and rare disease researcher Sofie Skoubo. After giving the keynote speech at ECRD 2024, Sofie sat down with us to talk about how her rare disease journey started, how she first got involved in sports, and the path that has taken her from there to competing at #Paris2024 for the Danish wheelchair rugby team!
