The following funding opportunity announcements from the NHLBI or other components of the National Institutes of Health, might be of interest:
NIH Guide Notice:
The NHLBI intends to publish a new Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that will encourage applications for research in support of development of novel point-of-care (POC) and implementation of existing technologies specifically for practical clinical applications which can guide diagnostic and therapeutic efforts in the heart, lung, blood, and sleep clinical research settings. The FOA is expected to be published in July, 2013 with an expected application due date in October, 2013. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.

Program Announcement (PA):
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages Research Project Grant (R01) applications from institutions/organizations that propose to advance our knowledge in the area of the physics and mechanics of embryonic development. It should be noted that applications using the NIH R01 grant mechanism will require sufficient preliminary data to substantiate the validity of the proposed research and feasibility of new technologies or tools.
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is intended to encourage innovative and high risk/impact research in the area of physics/mechanics of embryonic development to be explored in model organisms. The focus of this FOA is to promote research aimed at generating new and critical information about tissue mechanics relevant to vertebrate development and understanding the basis for developmental disorders.
Please note that most links to RFAs, PAs, and Guide Notices will take you to the NIH Web site. RFPs will take you to FedBizOpps. Links to RFPs will not work past their proposal receipt date. Archived versions of RFPs posted on FedBizOpps can be found on the FedBizOpps site using the FedBizOpps search function. Under “Document to Search,” select Archived Documents.
