(HealthDay News) -- If you've got arthritis and want to minimize joint pain, there are steps you can take to keep your joints healthier, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says.
The CDC offers these suggestions:
  • Perform at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise at least five days each week. This can help decrease pain, improve motion and delay disability.
  • Lose weight if you're overweight or obese.
  • Visit your doctor if you have early signs of arthritis, such as joint pain. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent long-term damage.
  • Protect your joints from injury, particularly if you engage in sports, work or other activities that require repetitive motion.
