Transforming mental health in Europe +... ++ +...
Europe is facing a mental health crisis: 17% of people in the WHO European Region have a mental health condition, and one in three do not receive the treatment they need. Armed conflicts, economic uncertainty, and the climate crisis have intensified demand and exposed systemic weaknesses, building on the increased pressures created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Services remain underfunded, fragmented, and unequally distributed. This Series responds to the urgent need for action by synthesising evidence across four areas: the wellbeing of health-care workers, the mental health of children and young people, challenges in Central and Eastern Europe, and gaps in service coverage. The Series calls for bold investment, empowered workforces and community-based reform, to build resilient, equitable systems across Europe.
