Access to Care Community of Practice Event: Speaker Update
The Region 6 Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) is excited to announce the launch of the Access to Care Community of Practice! This is a free event and is open to all partners interested in joining and participating in this new regional peer-to-peer learning initiative. Future meetings will be held on a quarterly basis and will feature innovations in care delivery in rural or low-access settings.

During the September 9th event, Sarah Hohman, the Director of Government Affairs at the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC), will present on the rural health landscape, including key challenges impacting access to quality health care in rural, medically underserved communities, such as clinic and hospital financial instability, workforce shortages, maternity care access, behavioral health, and chronic disease. This presentation will also showcase federal programs and funding opportunities, technical assistance and other resources, policy efforts, and partnerships designed to improve access to care and support rural hospitals and clinics.
