Karran Phillips, M.D., MSc, the acting director of SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, will present on SUD treatment options and on the work SAMHSA is doing to facilitate greater access to treatment and to more fully equip medical professionals in position to provide that treatment. That will be immediately followed by a fireside chat between Angela Caldwell, CSC-AD, MS, and David Awadalla, MSW, BSHP, SAMHSA experts working in the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and the Office of Recovery, respectively. The duo will discuss the evolution of the concept of recovery, as well as how centering individuals who have SUD during the treatment process can make a world of difference in their recovery efforts’ success.
