NIAID scientists discovered that bacteria present on healthy skin called Roseomonas mucosa can safely relieve eczema symptoms in adults and children. Eczema—also known as atopic dermatitis—is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that affects approximately 20% of children and 10% of adults worldwide.
