GAPP Knowledge Base (beta version)
An integrated, searchable knowledge base of genomic applications in practice and prevention (GAPP).

GAPPNet™

The GAPP Knowledge Base (GAPP KB) is an online resource providing access to information on genomic applications for use in health care and public health. Genomic applications include genetic and genomic tests, family history tools, and genomic technologies.

About the GAPP Knowledge Base

GAPP KB is a continuously updated searchable online resource that provides access to information on applications of genomic research for use in public health and health care. Genomic applications include genetic and genomic tests, family history tools, and genomic technologies.

GAPP KB allows users to search for...

* Genomic applications, which can be sorted by disease, gene, drug, and type. Curators have updated the database weekly since October 2009, using the results of customized, systematic Internet searches.
* Evidence reviews, summaries and recommendations on genetic tests and other applications of genomic technologies. The information is collected from various sources, such as the Evaluation of Genomic Applications in Practice and Prevention (EGAPP) project, the PLoS Currents: Evidence on Genomic Tests publication, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and others.
* Genomic translation projects involving the use of genomic knowledge and applications for preventing disease and improving the health of individuals and groups. These projects are conducted by academic and research institutions, and state health departments.
